BioWayste Philosophy of Approach

BioWayste has developed a unique modular approach to the site implementation of high-rate anaerobic process technology, an approach that is readily transferable across numerous industrial sectors.  This approach challenges and addresses the issues associated with conventional site erected systems that:

  • Demand massive capital investment
  • Involve multi-contractor implementation
  • Involve extended site implementation time-frames
  • Require significant planning and civils
  • Incur considerable engineering design risk
  • Limit future plant expansion should feed characteristics change over time

By approaching the site implementation of anaerobic plant utilising small, modular reactors based on a standardised design, BioWayste delivers the following benefits on behalf of industry.

  • Minimised capital investment in plant
  • Single contractor implementation
  • Implementation time-frames in terms of several weeks rather than months
  • Minimal planning and civils requirements
  • Removal of plant engineering and design risk
  • Scalable plant architecture in order to accommodate increased treatment requirements over time

BioWayste installations comprise two key plant components; a services skid and the reactor module(s).  Each component performs a specific and defined function, and is fully integrated to enable successful plant operation.

Biowayste Services Skid

Small footprint services skid enables simple monitoring, control and manipulation of feed substrate profile to ensure process efficacy and stability.

BioWayste M60 Reactor Module

Small high rate reactors are extremely efficient at retaining the biomass required to ensure high-rate COD removal efficiency and are designed to ensure optimum substrate-biomass interaction.  Each M60 module is capable of processing circa 1ton/COD/day.

Applications

We can transform a broad range of wastes in to readily useable biogas, including:

  • Waste-waters and industrial effluent
  • Slurries & sludges
  • Blood and ABP
  • Waste food
  • High-strength liquors

BioWayste are experienced at designing least cost waste-to-energy processes in the following sectors:

  • Meat and poultry processing
  • Brewing and distilling
  • Soft drink manufacturing
  • Animal by-products and rendering
  • Food manufacturing and processing
  • Chemical and pharmaceutical
  • Dairy
  • Agriculture
  • Waste management
